Russell is an Applied Scientist at Microsoft embedded on a Product Management team, where he focuses on evaluations to improve Copilot in Office and partners on initiatives to help translate AI science into product.

He has served on the Yale Advisory Committee on Investor Responsibility and, since 2023, on the American Statistical Association Committee on Scientific Freedom and Human Rights.

Russell led JudgmentBench in the Stanford liftlab, collaborating with Harvey, Snorkel, and 50+ lawyer contributors to define quality in legal AI and giving talks at the Cambridge Business School and Snorkel AI. In October, he’ll serve as a panelist at the Snorkel Frontier Data Summit.

He received a BS, magna cum laude, in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science and Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry from Yale, with the Lanphier Memorial Prize for ranking first in the Electrical Engineering department.
